On the page describing the weekly rental costs for our two apartments in Venice you will see our rates converted into indicative dollar and euro rates. These reflect recent rates and the final cost may be a slightly different figure in your own currency.
We run our non-UK currency arrangements
as follows:
being a small owner-run service, we do not have the facility to accept
credit cards; after investigation into many alternatives, we have found that
the easiest and cheapest way for our non-UK visitors to pay is almost always
to write us a cheque in their own currency
we calculate the cost for non-UK-based visitors by converting into
your currency the total sterling cost, plus an
additional £25 (per booking, not per week) to cover the bank
charges we pay for receiving and converting foreign cheques in the UK
for the deposit we ask you to pay
50% of the total cost
about five weeks before you go to the house, we will tell you the final
cost, converting the sterling total plus an additional
£25 into dollars/euros, using the rate from the Oanda
FX Converter Currency Conversion website. The deposit is subtracted, the
remainder will be the balance you'll need to pay us three weeks before your
start date at the house.
Two other options for non-UK visitors are:
if at the time of booking you wish to write us a cheque for the whole
amount instead of paying the deposit and then the balance, we can halve the
extra £25 charge
if you prefer to write us a cheque drawn in sterling, the sterling
rates apply with no extra cost.
