Rent a holiday home in Venice, Italy: Casa Tre Archi

Casa Tre Archi is on the left hand side overlooking this magnificent Venetian vista

Casa Tre Archi is a two-bedroomed self catering apartment at the top of a 17th-century merchant’s building looking over the Cannaregio canal. It has been beautifully renovated, with new marble floors throughout – except for the living room, which has kept its original terrazzo floor of tiny nuggets of coloured marble. Read the visitors’ comments on the right of this page to see how highly they rate it as a place to stay!

logos of publications that have reviewed us

As well as great reviews from our users, we are regularly reviewed in leading publications such as the 2010 Rough Guide to Venice and the Veneto: "meticulously maintained ... remarkably good value ... and the owners could not be more helpful." The 2006 "Frommer's Italy" guide described us as "good value" and "wonderfully renovated". We were noted in the "Insider's Guide to Venice" (Daily Telegraph, February 2011); "five best private rentals in Venice" (Condé Nast Traveller, September 2005); and "Five best: Venetian rentals" (Independent, February 2006).

The living room looks out over the canal, the lagoon and the ‘Tre Archi’ bridge. Here the historical romance of Venice mingles with the interest of daily life. From this window you can see the Venetian tides rising and falling, and view the parade of working boats that ply this important ‘Royal Canal’: waterbuses, delivery barges and private motorboats. On a clear day, if you look to the left you will see the snow caps of the Dolomites rising above the Veneto plain; turn to the right and you are looking into the city along one of Venice’s grandest canals.

If your party is larger than five people, this flat is for rental together with Casa Battello or Casa della Sensa – any of the three properties is just a few minutes’ walk from any other.

The light, airy and cool sitting/dining room has comfortable casual seating for five people, and an eating area with a dining table that seats five. (Should you wish to rent both our properties at once, it can expand with extra leaves to seat up to 10 people; the five extra chairs are stored in the attic.) From the sitting room’s airy windows you will get fantastic views up and down the Cannaregio Canal. And all over the flat you will find a pleasing and intriguing variety of prints and photographs.

venice property rental floor plan

Casa Tre Archi is all on one floor, a spacious layout of around 75 square metres

The spacious double bedroom has a king-sized double bed and plenty of storage space. It has air conditioning built in. The window looks out over a small courtyard and over a wall into a row of Venetian gardens.

The twin bedroom can be used with a double bed (two single beds lock together firmly to make a double); or you can use it as a twin bedroom. It too is air-conditioned. Two windows look out over the courtyard.

When you are catering for yourself, it’s always a pleasure to have a really outstanding kitchen. Our fully equipped fitted kitchen has double sink, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. We have equipped it with lots of great cooking equipment, from coffee percolators to slotted spoons! The breakfast/preparation table seats three; larger parties can sit at the dining table in the sitting/dining room.

The bathroom has a bath, a shower and the loo. We supply comfortable towels and good quality bedlinen. There is a washing machine for your clothes, and a line on which you can dry them strung across the courtyard.

Sleeping arrangements in this Venetian two-bedroomed flat

You can therefore sleep four in the two bedrooms, and an extra one person can sleep on the sofabed in the living room. There is a storage chest in the living room for bedding to be stored during the day – but please note that we have not fitted the sitting room with wardrobe space – those who stay in the living room can use the ample wardrobe space in the main bedroom to store away personal possessions during the daytime.

The entire flat measures around 75 square metres.

Decoration, furnishing and finishing touches to our holiday rental offer

The flat is decorated to a high standard. We have equipped it to help visitors enjoy the dazzling art and architecture and marvellous fresh food Venice has to offer. After a day walking around Venice you can leaf through our selection of books about the city, including guides, walks, some hefty art books, and recipe books – we believe we have catered for most tastes! With the well-equipped, fitted kitchen you can make the most of the fish and vegetable markets just around the corner, and the cornucopian markets near the Rialto bridge.

free tipsheet to cook for yourself using the best Venetian food

Every visiting party gets our free tipsheet to help them self-cater well: greengrocers, fish markets, spice shops, the best local coffee and ice cream ...

There are also some other little touches to make life comfortable and easy in Venice: free wifi broadband access; generous Egyptian cotton towels; a telephone (you keep a note of calls and pay us when you return the keys); a washing machine, clothes line, an iron and ironing board; a hair dryer; a big English/Italian dictionary – and a range of wellies. We also supply a child’s pushchair, travel cot and baby bath with changing mat.

The house is gas centrally heated (not much in demand between April and October); the heater gives hot water as you need it. The two bedrooms are air-conditioned (if you need a flat that is air-conditioned throughout all the living areas as well, see our Casa della Sensa). All the bedding and towels you need are provided (excepting linen for the baby cot).

The map above shows our three properties (pin symbols) and the waterbus stops (anchors). The flat is diagonally opposite a vaporetto (public water bus) stop on the giracittà (‘circling the city’) routes. Casa Tre Archi is far left (pink pin).

We also offer free luggage storage in a locked downstairs storage room (magazzino) nearby in the Cannaregio area should you need somewhere to put your suitcases before or after check-in/departure.
